The project involved the partial demolition and redevelopment of the former Dunlop Rubber Factory, an Edwardian building of significant local architectural merit. Key elements of this locally listed structure were retained and refurbished to create an inclusive, residential-led mixed-use development. The scheme provided living accommodation, employment opportunities, and amenities such as small retail spaces, a GP practice, and assisted living for the elderly. Community engagement was central to the process, involving local residents, the City of Leicester, universities, and business groups. The result was a coordinated and integrated development that delivered significant benefits to the area.
